Hose sections | Hose rings

Hose rings are a special type of sealing ring. AL Elastomer Extrusion manufactures bespoke hose rings that meet the highest quality standards. Available materials include EPDM, CR, NBR, HNBR, FPM/FKM (Viton®) and silicone.

A major advantage of hose rings is that they can be produced cost-effectively from hose stock, as no tools are usually required. Customers across many industries value this benefit.

Despite their simplicity, hose rings must meet high standards, often with tight tolerances. Our production is guided by the DIN 3302-1 standards. For precise internal diameters, we frequently manufacture on a mandrel, whilst grinding is used to achieve exact external dimensions.

As a rule, one or more layers of rubber are vulcanised to form a hose.
The hoses consist of an inner layer (core), a reinforcing layer over this, and a further layer on the outside for mechanical and/or chemical protection.
Depending on the requirements, the construction and composition can vary considerably. By using suitable materials, hoses can be produced to meet almost any requirement. The hoses are usually first wound onto a mandrel and then vulcanised. The mandrel is then removed. If required, we can grind the hoses to the required dimensions.

Rubber hoses are always used when the specific chemical and physical properties of the material being conveyed require flexibility during conveyance, metering or shut-off. For these so-called cores, we use rubber compounds optimised for the specific application. There are no general rules for their selection; they are chosen on a case-by-case basis based on the customer’s specifications.

Dimensions:

  • Inner diameter: from approx. 3 to 300 mm
  • Outer diameter: from approx. 6 to 400 mm

Lengths:
Our hose rings can be produced on a heated mandrel up to a length of 2,000 mm. The maximum length varies depending on the diameter.

Variants:

  • Smooth extruded
  • Subsequently ground on the outside – up to a maximum of 1.50 m
  • With or without fabric reinforcements
  • Patterned

Manual finishing:

Our hose rings can be further finished by hand to meet specific requirements. Possible finishes include:

  • Grooves
  • Chamfering
  • Perforations
  • Camber grinding
